"Promoting education on the problem of Global Warming and Climate Change in order to encourage lifestyle changes and practical actions that will help to mitigate the problem"

It is now clear to all of us that significant Climate Change is taking place across the world, killing millions of people and progressively destroying our economies.

It is also clear that the government's target of 80% reductions in CO2 by 2050 means very little in the context of world concentrations and that scientists are now telling us very clearly that we need to reduce our carbon dioxide emissions by 100% by 2028, framed within the context of a fair, scientific international agreement. We need to do this in an attempt to stabilise carbon dioxide emissions below 350 parts per million (ppm) in order to avoid a 2 degree increase in average temperature, (see www.350.org )which is predicted to trigger unstoppable, chain-reaction climate change, caused by the planet's own feedback mechanisms. For more information, go to www.zerocarbonbritain.com

We hope that this website will provide some background information on the things we all need to do, with the emphasis being on supporting the Contraction & Convergence International carbon rationing framework as an absolute priority. The principle being Fair Shares of carbon giving Fair Choices for everyone.

Aubrey Meyer, creator of C&C

Fair Shares Fair Choice is the principle of Contraction & Convergence.

Holyrood 350

If you missed this phenominal Movie in Mar this year, why not get the video HERE and have your own showing in your town or village. It is probably the most critical film that has yet been made to help save us all from climate change. Starring Pete Postlethwaite, this film graphically portrays how critical our situation is, HOW stupid we have been to allow it to happen but it also explains why C&C is clearly the only answer. Click here to see a preview.

Holyrood 350 is the initiative of people who are actively working to reduce their communities’ carbon emissions, and who call on the Government to adopt a radical and imaginative framework to enable all communities in Scotland to do the same. We ask the Government to redirect its energies from pursuing unsustainable economic growth to pursuing growth which strengthens communities’ resilience and well being while making a step change towards a carbon-free future. Read details of our proposal HERE.  Or HERE to listen to an explanation of how C&C can help us get to 350 parts per million concentrations of CO2 in the atmosphere.

The Holyrood 350 campaign is part of the broader international 350 campaign (https://www.350.org/) which is seeking to inspire governments and people to make the changes that will enable us to deal decisively with climate change.

The Tyndall Centre is one of the main centres advising the government on Climate Change. One of their main projects just now is looking at how we can introduce Tradable Energy Quotas (TEQs) in this country, as a fore-runner to Contraction & Convergence worldwide.

Stop Flying NOW

This could reduce the average person's emissions by 20% to 30% per year

For more information on the pollution and economic problem associated with increased air travel CLICK HERE.

To calculate the horrendous volume of CO2 created from various flights around the world...click HERE

Most people now know that flying is one of the most polluting forms of travel, so if you have children in your family but still continue to fly, consider whether or not you could leave this letter for them, along with your will.

Peat & Forest Fires emit the same as the USA!

If these fires in Indonesia and Malaysia are not addressed, the will make all the green house gas emission reductions futile. See this report by Almuth Ernsting.
